About JWTs

A JSON Web Token is a compact, signed credential. Use this debugger to inspect a token without trusting its signature, or paste a key to verify it locally — nothing ever leaves your browser.

  • Header carries the algorithm and token type.
  • Payload contains claims like sub, exp, iat.
  • Signature is verified against your key.
  • Never trust an unverified JWT in production.
